With the mercury tipped to hit 34 degrees on Saturday and 37 on Sunday, Wagga’s usual blistering summer will kick into gear.
Firefighters have already been busy battling blazes in our region, and NSW Ambulance is urging the community to be heat smart.
“The very young, the elderly and those with pre-existing medical conditions are typically the most vulnerable (to the heat),” NSW Ambulance Superintendent Mark Gibbs said.
He said if a person is suffering from heat exhaustion and they seem disoriented and confused, call Triple-0 immediately and ask for an ambulance.
Relief will come by Tuesday with a forecast of 29 degrees. Some showers are predicted on Monday with a top of 33.
