Riverina MP focused on food labeling to cut out confusion

Riverina MP Michael McCormack has assured locals he’s heard demands for clearer food labelling information, including where it is made, produced or grown.

Mr McCormack recognised demand for stricter definitions of what “Made in Australia from local and imported ingredients” means to shoppers.

A new law was tabled in Parliament on Monday, which will introduce easy-to-understand labels with the purpose of explaining at a glance where a product comes from.
