The Cultural Delight and Flight, organised by Culture Club and made possible from a Wagga council community grant, was hailed a great success by Multicultural Council of Wagga manager Belinda Crain.
“We had more than 150 people turn up,” Ms Crain said.
The day was all about bringing all the different cultures in Wagga together in a harmonious way.
“I was surprised at how competitive flying kites can be,” Ms Crain said.
Families from many different countries, including Pakistan, India, Burma, Iraq, Afghanistan and African nations decorated kites for the event.
It is hoped the event will become a permanent part of the Wagga calendar.
