The 18-year-old traveller, named Ralph, was handed into the Cootamundra Veterinary Clinic two weeks ago by a concerned local after he was found wandering the streets.
After checking Ralph’s microchip, vet Rachel McClure was shocked to find that he had travelled all the way from Sydney.
“It’s a bit of a mystery how he got here but it’s great that we’ve been able to reunite him with his owner,” Ms McClure said. “It goes to show how valuable it is to have pets microchipped.”
Ms McClure was able to contact Ralph’s shocked owners.
