One of these, Riverina Dorper sheep farmer Sally Jones, who comes from a long bloodline of family farmers, said she hopes the day will also give more women the opportunity to consider a career in agriculture.
“I think it is important women have the option to consider farming as a career and follow it if that is where their passion lies, what is equally important is they have access to education to make a positive contribution to the sector," Ms Jones said.
In NSW, 27 per cent of those employed in the agricultural sector are women with 13 per cent employed full time.
