Alex Dennis has will receive the Minister’s Award for student achievement.
She is among just 13 students across the state who were recognised.
Students must excel in academic, leadership, community service and sport to be nominated.
Alex was so shocked when she opened the letter that she screamed.
The year 12 student has received honours (the school's highest level of merit) six times and is involved every facets of school life.
“That’s just the person I am, mum always said have a go at everything and this award complements my hard work,” she said.
Alex will receive the award in Sydney on September 20.
