Making sure your details are correct makes it easier to return lost pets to their owners, according to Mark Gardiner, manager of environment and recreation services at Wagga City Council.
“The Pet Registry is an online database of microchipped and registered cats and dogs that live in NSW,” Mr Gardiner said. “If a cat or dog on the register goes missing, the microchip can be scanned allowing the owner to be contacted and the pet returned safely.
“Maintaining your ownership contact details is essential to ensure you can be contacted as soon as possible.”
Owners are encouraged to create an online profile, claim their existing pets and register new pets in future.
