Almost 40 local children will take part in The Children's Theatre Workshop production of Tom and the Water Babies, to coincide with the school holidays.
The play, which has been a mainstay of British children's literature, tells the tale of Tom the chimney sweep, who is transformed into a “water baby” and becomes swept up in other-worldly adventures.
As well as fine tuning the theatrical skills of young participants, the play intends to teach both the actors and the audience important life lessons depicted through Tom’s own moral education, that sees his return to human form.
Held at The Basement Theatre, the play will run at various times throughout the week, making it the perfect event for families to enjoy during school holidays.
