This year, the annual Rhythm 'n' Rail Festival lineup will see the addition of the Search For a Star Talent Competition, an event giving novice musicians a chance to perform in front of thousands.
The competition is open to all singers and solo musicians, with three heats running throughout February that will determine who performs at the grand final on the opening night of the festival.
Event organiser Emma McAuliffe said the event was born from her desire to give undiscovered local musicians the chance to showcase their talent.
"There's not many opportunities in town for novice musicians to perform," she said. "This new addition of the talent competition allows people to become involved and engaged in the music, not just watch it.”
The winner will perform on the main stage on the final day of the festival, as well as win a recording session at Wagga's Flying Fox Studio.
