The phone, which was dropped into the Sydney station in November last year, was handed over to detectives after it was discovered to contain a number of pornographic images of a child.
Inquiries made by detectives at both Green Valley and Deniliquin local area commands culminated with the arrest of a 22-year-old man on Friday.
During a search of the man’s Hay Road, Deniliquin home, police seized two mobile phones and a laptop, which is alleged to have also contained child pornographic images.
He has been charged with three counts of produce, disseminate or possess child abuse material.
The man was granted strict conditional bail and will face Deniliquin Local Court on Tuesday, January 19.
