
POLICE have arrested a teenager in Young suspected of going on a rampage, including damaging 15 vehicles and smashing shop windows.
Police said they received numerous reports of broken windows and damaged cars on Sunday.
Several businesses in the central business district, including a hotel, a Chinese restaurant, a service station, and insurance broker and a funeral home were damaged, police said.
More than a dozen vehicles suffered panel damage and broken windscreens.
And a 94-year-old woman had a spray can thrown through her White Street bedroom window.
Police who attended the carnage spoke to witnesses and watched closed circuit television footage before arresting an 18-year-old male on Sunday afternoon.
He has been charged with 20 counts of maliciously damaging property and refused police bail ahead of a court appearance on January 5.
