After almost two years away from the racetrack it didn’t take Regal Ducati too long to rediscover his winning form.
The Stephen Maguire-trained gelding scored an impressive win at Parkes on Monday in his second race back from a hind suspensory injury.
After a fourth at Junee, the five-year led all the way in the first of the Medlyns/Castrol Gig heats.
The win qualifies Regal Ducati for the $6000 final on Thursday.
He’s drawn barrier five while Ray Walker finished second in his heat with Bell Ringer and drew gate seven.
Col Thomas also qualified Camroller for the $15,000 Golden Bar final for three-year-olds after he finished second on debut.
Reece Maguire also enjoyed success at Parkes, with Levi Jade winning an Elvis Championship Final heat.
The $9000 final will be run next Wednesday to coincide with the Elvis Festival.
