Two times the fines
A mother and father have been fined in separate incidents on the same day.
Highway Patrol stopped a Toyota Corolla in Gundagai about 9am on Tuesday for a random breath test and discovered her unrestrained two-year-old.
The child’s 39-year-old mother was issued a $319 fine for the infringement and was directed to a service station to secure the child.
A short time later police caught the 36-year-old father driving with the child incorrectly restrained.
He was also fined $319.
