POLICE have charged a man after a large amount of money was found in a car near Hay.
The arrest was made after a car was stopped for a random breath test on the Sturt Highway about 7pm on Monday.
Police said that after speaking with the 56-year-old driver a search was conducted of the car, resulting in the find of cash.
He was taken to Deniliquin police station and charged with having goods in custody and dealing in the proceeds of crime.
Police said the man would appear in Deniliquin Local Court on Tuesday.
