Barber Jason Lagaali provided more than just free haircuts for Wagga’s homeless on Christmas Day.
He gave them a sympathetic ear as he spent hours listening to their stories.
Mr Lagaali established himself at Edel Quinn on Christmas morning and cut the hair and trimmed the beards of four grateful men.
“It was awesome … I wanted to stay there and the spend the whole day,” Mr Lagaali said.
Mr Lagaali listened to stories from a man who had travelled around the country five times and took requests from another who “wanted to look good for the girls”.
“For me, it made me appreciate what I have,” he said.
“They were stoked I gave up my time for them.
“You couldn’t wipe the smile off their faces.”
Mr Lagaali said he intends to provide the service again next Christmas and has inspired members of his own family to assist in 2016 by cooking lunch for clients at Edel Quinn.
“I want to urge a lot of people around Wagga to do something for them on Christmas,” he said.
