South Wagga Butchery manager Raymond Farrell said his store increased sales by at least 20 per cent around the Christmas period, with prawns and ham being this years top sellers.
"We've been extremely busy over the past few days and everyone's been putting in lots of extra hours and taking lots of orders,” he said.
Store manager of Marketplace Woolworths Lauren Rodway said while expected ingredients were being sold en mass, there was a trend towards healthier alternatives. “We're going absolutely crazy with seafood, but People are being more adventurous with ingredients, buying food like quinoa, kale and pomegranates,” she said.
