MIA Breeders Plate hopeful Im With Lexy was an impressive winner at Bathurst on Friday night.
The Bernie Hewitt-trained filly led all the way in The Bathurst RSL Free Live Entertainment Two Year Old Pace (1730m).
Im With Lexy clocked a mile rate of 1:58.6, half a second faster than Redbank Blaze’s win.
She defeated three other two-year-olds still among the 25 nominations for the prestigious feature, Peter Bullock’s Ruth Shannon, Leonardo Shannon and Jackeroo Shannon.
Ruth Shannon was the best placed, finishing third.
The daughter of Roll With Joe is a half-sister to Read About Lexy, the reigning NSW Three Year Old of the Year.
The Defiant, winner on debut at Maryborough, is also among the nominations for Melbourne trainer Michael Azzopardi.
Fields for the heats to be run on Boxing Day are scheduled to be released on Tuesday afternoon.
