A 16-YEAR-old unaccompanied learner driver will be charged with Skye’s Law after leading police on a chase from Forest Hill to the Hume Highway.
Inspector Peter Robertson said the driver failed to stop for a random breath test at 7am on Sunday.
The pursuit was initially terminated on safety grounds before police found the driver again near Borambola.
Road spikes were used as the driver headed east to the Hume Highway and he arrested after driving a further 10 kilometres.
It’s the second pursuit police have been engaged in since the start of Operation Safe Arrival last week.
Another driver failed to stop for police on Friday leading officers on a chase along Best Street.
Inspector Robertson said it showed a blatant disregard for the public’s safety.
