HOW do you make a young person think about their actions? According to Ronda Lampe, plant respect and watch it grow.
It’s the message Wagga’s Respect Awareness group wants to get across to the city’s youth amid an unprecedented rate of youth-related crime.
Aside from taking the message into schools, shopping malls and community centres, the group has now enlisted the help of a “moving billboard” in the form of bus advertising.
“The meaning of respect is just such an important message to get through to everyone in the community,” Ms Lampe said.
“Our community would just be so much better if people would show respect to themselves and to others and their property.
“It might help them think about their actions.”
