If you’re looking for something to do during the holidays, why not take a stroll along the fantastic walking tracks at The Rock Hill and Galore Hill in Lockhart Shire.
Both The Rock Nature Reserve and Galore Scenic Reserve cater for the fitness enthusiast and the casual walker.
Experience stunning views on trails suitable for the whole family or, for the more adventurous, take one of the more challenging trails that will test your skills.
There are barbecues, picnic tables, shade and toilets set in natural bushland at the base of The Rock Hill, while the picnic spots at the Summit and Saddle on Galore Hill include picnic tables, toilets and play equipment, as well as a lookout tower with 360 degree views.
Keeping Cool
Taking your kids to the local pool is a great way to introduce them to a fun activity and to ensure they are comfortable around water.
It’s also a great form of exercise and relaxation, especially on a hot day.
The Rock and Lockhart Swimming Pools are open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm.(lap swimming Tuesday to Friday 6am to 7.30am)

The Rock will host the Inflatable from Thursday, January 21 to Sunday, January 24, and then it will be Lockhart’s turn for Australia Day and Wednesday, 27th January. Suitable for ages 5 to 18
Ring in the New Year at the Lockhart Ex-Servicemen’s Club with great entertainment Overtime Duo cool drinks and meals from 6pm.
