After being crowned just over a month ago, Miss Wagga hasn’t had a chance to rest.
“It’s just been go, go, go but at the same time it is really good, we are having so much fun,” Melissa McKinnon said.
Miss McKinnon and Community Princess Megan Short have been spreading Christmas cheer at the Kurrajong Waratah Christmas Spectacular, children’s ward at Wagga base and at Light the Night. Both Miss McKinnon and Miss Short work with children and were thrilled to visit the hospital to give the kids craft supplies.
“It was great to try and brighten their day a little bit, they were all so keen to look through the goodies we took them and do some painting,” Miss McKinnon said.
The pair also helped St Vincent de Paul Society pack hampers.
“It was so nice to be able to help people less fortunate, it really puts things in perspective,” Miss McKinnon said.
Miss McKinnon and Miss Short hope to attend more community events while they have their titles. To request they attend an event go to the Miss Wagga Facebook page or website.
