WAGGA soccer player Brooke Gayler, 15, will move to Sydney in January to pursue her sporting dreams.
Gayler will play for Marconi in the premier league, with hopes of eventually playing in the W-League.
“It will be different to Wagga, you only have a tough game every couple of weeks whereas in Sydney you’ll have a tough game every week,” she said.
She was noticed when she played for the Riverina at State Titles, and underwent a series of successful trials.
The striker loves nothing more than to score in a tight match and has played soccer with the boys since she was four.
"It has helped me be extra strong on the ball and the boys never want to lose, so it’s pushed me to be more competitive,” she said.
Brad Dean coached Gayler through juniors, “he got me into the rep stuff, and took us to a Volkswagen tournament in Sydney and that helped me decide that [soccer] is what I want to do.”
Andrew Mason and Rod Buik have also been integral in her development.
