A star Northern Jets footballer is in a critical condition at Canberra hospital after a single-vehicle accident on Thursday morning.
Marcus Jackson was flown to Canberra by the Snowy Hydro Southcare helicopter after emergency services were called to the scene about 6.15am.
His family, including Northern Jets coach Darren Jackson, are by the 22-year-old’s side at his hospital bed.
The rescue squad was called to the accident on Mary Gilmore Way near the Trungley Hall Road, about 30 kilometres north of Temora, to help free Mr Jackson.
He was trapped in his vehicle and was suffering from head, chest and abdominal injuries.
The rescue squad freed Mr Jackson and the Snowy Hydro Southcare helicopter was called to transport him to Canberra.
