WAGGA City Council is in the process of fencing off the “high-risk” open drain on Morgan Street to eliminate any risks.
Council officers undertook a risk assessment of the drain at the request of Mayor Rod Kendall. They deemed it high risk to the public due to the adjoining footpath, open channel and lack of fencing and signage.
Council has sought quotes to fence off the area and will also seek to install signage identifying the potential hazard.
