Two workshops examining the myths and realities of blended families will be held at St Michael’s Parish Centre on Johnston Street on Wednesday.
The sessions, which will run from 9.30am to 2.30pm and from 6pm to 9pm, will examine the unique dynamics present in blended families and step-families and serve to better inform step-parents about potential issues they could face.
Centacare has organised the sessions as part of its recent initiative to deliver specialised counselling and workshops specific to issues relating to step-families and blended families.
There are also plans from Centacare to run a blended and step-family forum mid-next year for professionals in collaboration with other services.
