Council is set to provide information anywhere with the addition of “Charlie”, the new community engagement vehicle.
The multipurpose truck is set to be used at community events and in emergency situations to give information to people.
“It is portable and flexible and we can go to where people are,” corporate services director, Craig Richardson said.
The truck was purchased second hand at auction for $47,000 and cost $20,000 to fit out.
According to Mr Richardson this is a relatively cheap with new trucks costing around $300,000.
Charlie will be officially launched at Snapshot 14/15: a year in focus on Wednesday night at 6pm at the Civic Centre forecourt.
