At the touch footy State Cup, Wagga’s mixed team took home the division three honours, winning all games on Sunday to take home the plate.
While the team was disappointed not to qualify for a higher division, the standard of competition in Port Macquarie was particularly high in their pool this year.
“We had one of the harder pools, three teams in our pool won each division,” Wagga captain Kade Price said.
“There are a lot of good teams, quite a few sides stacked with rep players.”
After a tough first day, the Wagga players didn’t lose a game.
Price mentioned James Hodges for his speed on the wing and Jack Margosis for his knowledge and ball skills.
