WAGGA Local Aboriginal Land Council chief executive officer Lorraine Lyons has vowed to keep a positive outlook in the face of stinging criticism of the organisation.
Wagga man Jason Jolley last week accused the organisation of failure.
The land council was defended this week by NSW Aboriginal Land Councillor for the Wiradjuri Region, Craig Cromelin.
He praised the council’s achievements with limited resources.
In the midst of the controversy, Mrs Lyons said she had the support of local land council members and at all times had worked to achieve their goals and strategies, including revitalising the land council building in Docker Street.
She said she was determined to tackle the issue of cultural respect and spiritual healing, both of which were needed to deal with problems of youth crime.
