The Wagga Derby Dolls lost their closest encounter yet with the Capitol Brawlers 162 to 152 at Bolton Park on Saturday.
The Wagga Derby Dolls were ahead with 10 minutes to go, but took a couple of penalties and lost the final two jams.
Ahead 75 to 52 at half time, Canberra were tiring, and Wagga closed in on their lead.
“It was a very clean game, with two evenly matched teams,” Derby Doll Holly Wright said.
Vixxxen was named as Wagga’s most valuable player, and most valuable blocker.
She’s [Vixxxen] all over the track, it’s very hard to get away from her.

“She was on for the majority of the game, she’s very consistent, very agile, stable and solid,” Wright said.
“She’s all over the track, it’s very hard to get away from her.”
Lightning McScream was their most valuable jammer.
The narrow loss has given Wagga plenty to think about before their upcoming bout on December 5.
“We’ll be working on our walls, on communication, containing the jammer, tactics and scoring points,” Wright said.
The Derby Dolls hope to see more spectators next time; Bolton Park was not as packed out as they had hoped with 150 spectators.
They would like to thank major sponsors, Duke of Kent Hotel, for lending a helping hand.
