
The crash that led to a 9mm pistol
A one-vehicle crash near Borambola landed an Ambarvale man, 24, straight in the lap of the law after police found an unregistered 9mm pistol in his car.
Police were called to the Sturt Highway about 1am Saturday morning.
The man was treated by paramedics, with a vehicle search revealing the pistol as well as cash and ammunition. The items were seized.
The man was charged with a string of firearm and driving offences and was refused bail.
Two women, who were in the car at the time, but left the crash scene, presented themselves to the station and are assisting police.

- Possess pistol
- Possess unregistered firearm
- Not keep firearm safely
- Possess ammunition
- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
- Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
