Six Wagga junior cyclists will be pitted against regional counterparts at the Country Championships hosted in Bathurst this weekend.
Following good results at the National Junior Track Series coach Cameron Oke anticipates a successful weekend.
“Ed [Wright] will dominate his division, and Rebel [Brooker] has been on fire,” Oke said.
The event will be a warm up to the State Championships the following weekend.
Meantime, momentum is slowing on the campaign to replace the junior bikes stolen from the cycling club.
A fundraising BBQ that was set to be held at Harvey Norman was cancelled last minute due to a double booking.
With donations the club has purchased five replacements, and received six bikes donated by generous community members, and still need to raise at least $4,000 for another four bikes.
