One student has stood out among the many who donated blood this year to become the NSW State Blood Service Youth Ambassador for 2015.
Madeleine Steward of The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC) has rolled up her sleeves for the Australian Red Cross Blood Service School Challenge.
Her involvement and liaison with students at her school and an impressive application was recognised this week on a state level.
Australia requires 25,000 blood donations a week to sustain a healthy supply.
More than 270 students from 10 Wagga schools, including 84 from Kooringal High School, 52 from Mater Dei Catholic College and 48 from TRAC, donated blood up until November 18 this year.
Miss Steward is now in the running to become the national youth ambassador.
