AS the warm weather sets in, local canoe club members have been meeting more religiously for a paddle at Wagga Beach.
Those interested in the sport, and not yet involved can try their hand at it on Saturday mornings.
“We can provide boats for people to learn in, we invite people not to race in and buy a boat until they work out what they need,” Wagga Bidgee Canoe Club spokesman Bruce Graham said.
In order to race, new participants must take part in a three-stage orientation course.
If you would like to give it a go, please contact the club before arriving for the 9am Saturday paddle, as the club would like to ensure there are enough experienced members in attendance to assist newcomers.
Around 10 regular members also meet on Tuesday afternoon for a 5km or 10km race down the Murrumbidgee.
