East Wagga-Kooringal’s bid for redemption will be headlined by familiar faces, with forwards Marc Geppert and Christian Kelly among a host of senior players to re-sign.
“There was a lot of talk when we got two quality forwards like that, how it would work but they’ve been the two biggest advocates of the concept and they've voted with their feet again,” Hawks coach Gavin McMahon said.
McMahon said the Hawks’ leadership group remains intact, including Ben Absolum, Joe Scott, Nathan Scott, Brenton Roberts as well as Nick Hull and Jake Robinson.
“When you lose a grand final by a goal, the off-season rumour mill goes a bit crazy but apart from the disappointment, we’ve got a tight club at the moment,” he said.
EWK are hoping to add to their list in coming weeks following the retirements of Chris Jackson and Ryan Campbell and departure of Stu Brierty and Craig Pullen.
The club has new off-field leadership with Steve Absolum elected president, taking over from Rob Richards.
