WAGGA Art Gallery is excited to announce The Jackdaw Film Series: our new annual program of film events especially curated by and for lovers of independent, experimental and cult cinema.
The Jackdaw Film Series will transform the gallery and the Civic Centre precinct into amazing lounge-style cinémathèques, complete with massive Dolby digital surround sound for the full big screen experience.
The Jackdaw Film Series aims to enthral our audiences with a carefully selected program of truly visionary cinema that pushes the boundaries of the artform.
Discover the world’s most innovative directors – revel in actors who’ll take you to new realms of human expression – and explore the outer limits of genre, style and technical bravado!
Join us for the inaugural launch of the series with a very special Halloween double feature, screening both Dario Argento’s grandiose giallo horror masterpiece, Suspiria and Ben Wheatley’s genre bending occult shocker Kill List.
Come with us as we transform the gallery into a spooky lounge inspired cinematheque for a bloodcurdling big screen experience with you and all your friends.
Doors open from 7pm till late with an intermission.
Admission is free, however bookings are essential, call us to reserve your seat on 6926 9660 or by email to gallery@wagga.nsw.gov.au.

Mosaic Workshop for Adults
BEAUTIFUL and colourful mosaics are always certain to appeal; here is your opportunity to learn the timeless art of mosaics, with Cowra-based tutor and mosaic artist Catherine Bennett.
This one-day workshop provides the perfect opportunity for you to understand the basics of creating a picture or pattern by arranging together small pieces of tile on an item.
Bring along your own small piece of furniture such as table tops, garden pots, urns, pavers, mirror frames, rocks, birdbaths - made of terracotta, stone, concrete or timber to decorate it for a unique feature.
Or if you’re stuck, just let us know and we can provide an item for you!
The workshop will run from 10am until 4pm on Saturday, October 31.
Places in the Mosaic Workshop are limited, so bookings are essential, and the cost is only $75 (including most materials).
