IF YOU’VE got a hankering for some bush tucker, this is the lunch for you.
As part of the Taste Riverina festival, students at Wagga TAFE will next week serve up a unique four-course meal with an Indigenous flavour.
Native pepper berry, wattle seed, saltbush and rosella will all feature in the lunch, prepared entirely by Certificate II in kitchen operations students and second year apprentices.
The native ingredients will be teamed with other local produce, including Berkshire pork belly and kangaroo fillet.
Students went on a number of field trips to Tumut and foraged for the ingredients.
Limited tickets are still available for next Tuesday’s lunch, which will be held from midday at the TAFE’s restaurant. To make a booking, call 1300 823 374.
