A WAGGA Sister will have her first novel published at the age of 85 as the winner of an international writing competition about the fearless founder of the Presentation Sisters, Nano Nagle.
Sr Noela Fox was declared the victor of the worldwide competition, which saw thousands of entrants submit a historically correct novel on Nano Nagle (1718 – 1784), who pioneered Catholic education in Ireland.
Sr Noela, a former university history lecturer who joined the Sisterhood aged 18, will have her book published early next year and will be flown to Dublin for its official release. Sr Noela has published many other historical books, but this will be her first novel.
“It was a very different experience to writing history. I loved writing it. It’s my first novel – what a shame I didn’t start when I was 15,” she said.
