GRIFFITH hope to lure two-time Jim Quinn medallist Guy Orton back to the club next season.
After announcing Adrian Pavese as the club’s new mentor last week, Swans president Jeff Harris revealed his committee was working on getting former coach Orton back in the red and white.
The champion midfielder played for the Northern Territory (NT) Thunder in the North East Australian Football League (NEAFL) last season after four years at the Swans but is set to return to Griffith for work reasons.
Harris said having a player the calibre of Orton back on deck would be a huge boost.
“Guy’s overseas at the moment, but he’ll be back and moving down this way by November,” Harris said.
“We would like to have him squared away and our list finalised in the next couple of weeks, but we’ll wait and see what happens.”
Aside from Orton, one of the Swans’ top priorities is retaining Josh Hamilton.
