In-form Leeton reinsman Reece Maguire extended his good start to the season with a winning double at Leeton on Friday night.
Maguire brought up a race to race after My Mach Scooter and Im Johnny Jet both scored.
After a fast-finishing fifth at Menangle on Saturday, Im Johnny Jet returned to winning ways in dominant fashion.
After crossing to the lead early, the son of Jeremes Jet never looked like being beaten as he stormed away from his rivals in the home straight to score by 18 metres.
Maguire admitted things didn’t pan out as panned at the state’s largest track last week, but he enjoyed to return to easier company.
“He’s a nice little horse and hopefully he can continue on his way,” he said.
“I was a bit disappointed but you have that split second decision.
“Looking back at it now after the race if I got going on the corner he probably wins, if not top three, so I put that down to my fault.
“In saying that he hit the line well, so we knew we had a horse for next week.”
After winning 18 races last season, Maguire has already won on eight occasions in just over a month.
“It’s going good and I’ve been pretty lucky with some of the horses I’ve got on but you take it while you can,” he said.
