AN ASHMONT home was gutted by fire late Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Blakemore Avenue single-storey brick house shortly before 5pm.
The cause of the fire is at this stage unknown, but it prompted a big response, including the temporary closure of the road.
Two fire units attended and an aerial pumper was also used to extinguish the blaze.
Paramedics said the house was unoccupied when the fire broke out.
