I was thinking ‘please don’t go into labour, I don’t need this today.
- Annette Keech
A HEAVILY pregnant Riverina mum has been left reeling after her car was stolen outside a Leeton car dealership last week.

Stanbridge’s Annette Keech, who is 38 weeks pregnant with her third child, dropped the Honda CRV outside of Leeton Motor Group shortly after 7pm on Monday night.
She planned to use the car to get around on Tuesday with her two daughters Tynisha Walsh, 9, and Shayla Walsh, 8, while the family’s other vehicle was being serviced.
“About 8.30am on Tuesday morning we went in and I was looking and I was like ‘there’s no car here’,” she said
“I even asked the girls to look.”
Ms Keech said she looked at the girls and said to them “we dropped the car off here yesterday, didn’t we?”
“I even drove around a little bit to see if someone moved it and I couldn’t see it anywhere,” she said.
She was hopeful the car would be returned before the new arrival comes.
“I was thinking ‘please don’t go into labour, I don’t need this today,” she said.
Ms Keech said she was “shocked and disappointed” at the theft.
“I was actually quite shocked because it had only been there one night and because it was the start of the week - I was really dumbfounded to be honest,” she said.
Ms Keech said while the family did have access to other vehicles, her husband was in the process of installing a reversing camera in the family vehicle.
“Some of his tools were in it and we found out yesterday that his mate’s computer was in it,” she said.
Ms Keech urged anyone with information to come forward and report it to authorities.
“When I go back to work next year, if Jeff needs to pick up the three kids now he can’t because he doesn’t have a car to pick them up in, he can’t put the baby in the ute,” she said.
The vehicle is a white 1997 Honda CRV model with the registration VW 25 25.
She said the car was dropped off outside Leeton Motor Group at about 7.20pm last Monday.
She said the entire family was “dumbfounded” by the theft and it had rocked their faith in the community.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Leeton police on 6953 1399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
