A Wagga service station has been recognised as one of the nation’s best.
The Caltex service station on Hammond Avenue, part of the New Sunrise Group, received the organisation’s national site of the year award earlier this month at a glitzy ceremony in Los Angeles. The site was rebuilt from the ground up three years ago, at a cost of around $1 million, after being heavily damaged in the March 2012 floods.
Franchisee Nathan Moffat hailed the efforts of the service station’s staff as being behind the site receiving the prestigious honour.
“What motivates the staff is they really enjoy our customers out there – (we have) a fantastic local base of customers,” he said.
The awards are judged primarily on the results of monthly audits conducted of New Sunrise’s 700 sites around the country, which look at performance and compliance from promotional activities and site presentation to customer service.
The Caltex on the corner of Edward Street and Station Place was previously recognised as NSW site of the year in 2011 and 2013.
