Circuit racing made a successful return to Lake Albert for the inaugural Thunder on the Lake over the weekend.
Low water levels have prevented similar circuit races but 18 boats were part of a successful return of the sport after nearly two decades.
Event co-ordinator Joh Paynter was thrilled with how the event went off.
“We could not have asked for better,” Paynter said.
“Excellent conditions, a marvelous group of people who just went out and had a great time racing.”
Visitors from across Canberra, Cowra and Albury were very impressed with Lake Albert setting.
“They think it is a fantastic venue, absolutely loved the facility, the lake and had a great time,” Paynter said.
No winners were declared however the partnership between the Hume and Wagga boat clubs are looking to host two more events on the lake in the next 12 months.

Paynter said they were looking at holding another event between January and March as well as another in September.
