It would be easy for self-confessed choc-a-holic Trevor Dawson to eat a block of chocolate a day.
A student approached Mr Dawson about doing the Sugar Free September Challenge for muscular dystrophy and a voice in the back of his head told him to join the cause.
It has been a true test for the agriculture and outdoor education teacher at The Riverina Anglican College but Mr Dawson said he is committed to seeing out the month.
“For me to not have chocolate for a whole month is a big deal,” he said.
“I’m only halfway through so I hope that day when I don’t miss it comes soon.”
Mr Dawson has given up chocolate, cakes, ice cream and fruit juice and has been curbing his cravings by drinking more water and eating almonds and bananas.
Donations to the TRAC team can be made via their page on the Sugar Free September Challenge website.
