BACK IN: Junee mayor Neil Smith was returned to the top job by one vote on Tuesday.
JUNEE mayor Neil Smith will continue in the town’s top job for 12 months after winning by one vote.
Councillor Smith beat former mayor Lola Cummins last year by one vote.
On Tuesday, he was challenged by deputy mayor Pam Halliburton.
After failing to win the job of mayor, Councillor Halliburton nominated for deputy – and was elected unopposed.
“It’ll be a pleasure working with you for the next 12 months councillor Halliburton,” Cr Smith said after winning the vote.
