WAGGA City Council expects work on the National Broadband Network (NBN) in Wagga should be finished by 2017.
NBN Co briefed 50 people representing the city’s businesses and residents on Tuesday morning.
Council’s commercial and economic development director Peter Adams said he expected work to begin on the ground in July next year.
“Based on the information provided, we’re expecting a two year time frame,” Dr Adams said.
Dr Adams said an NBN Co representative provided information on the services currently available including the fixed wireless services available for Collingullie, Uranquinty and Gumly Gumly.
He said businesses were warned to look at how Uber and AirBnB had impacted their industries with better connectivity to benefit local business.
