WAGGA Tigers’ premier midfielder Shaun Flanigan will face a race against time to play again this season.
Flanigan hobbled from the field in the fourth minute of Saturday’s qualifying final after a bruising collision, which was later revealed to be a hamstring injury.
He never returned to the field.
Flanigan has enjoyed his finest season and has established himself as one of the premier midfielders in the competition.
Wagga Tigers captain-coach Matt Rava was unsure about the severity of the injury.
“Hopefully, fingers crossed, we get him back at some point,” Rava said.
Tigers are guaranteed at least two more weeks of football, with three weeks until a potential grand final.
