ALFRED Oval will be off limits to Young during the Group Nine finals.
Despite dumping Kangaroos out of the premiership at Equex Centre on Saturday, Young will not get a chance to play any subsequent games at their home ground.
Under the terms of the finals series, fifth-placed Young will not be permitted to play a higher-placed team at Alfred Oval, effectively putting them on a travelling roster.
Young captain-coach Luke Branighan, however, will have more on his mind than venues this week with three players out injured.
“We’ve had no luck (with injuries),” Branighan said.
“This week Boyd Strickland, Carl Planicka and Chris Campbell dropped out in the 48 hours before the game.
“We’re just never at full strength.”
Despite the triple blow, strategic changes worked to perfection for Branighan, with Young smashing Roos by eight tries to three.
Significantly, New Zealand prop Isaac Maliota made a triumphant return for Young on Saturday, while teenager Matt Murray was another to rise to the occasion.
Maliota had not played for Young for a month, but was at his blockbusting best coming off the bench.
