POLICE are calling for help following an assault on a 30-year-old woman.
The woman was walking home from the Rules Club when she was confronted by three girls near Fernleigh Road at 8pm on Friday.
Inspector Peter McLay from Wagga police said the woman was walking home through a vacant block near the RFS headquaters when approached by the young girls.
Inspector McLay said an argument began and the girls demanded the woman’s belongings, before she was assaulted and her wallet and cash taken.
The victim sustained injuries to her face.
He said the woman defended herself then returned home to tell her family about the assault.
Inspector McLay said the three girls were all of similar height – around 150 centimetres.
One was wearing a hoody with blonde hair and dark coloured pants, the second had dark clothing with a hooded top and was of Aboriginal appearance.
The third was of Aboriginal appearance and was wearing dark clothing.
