GANMAIN-Grong Grong-Matong produced an eight-goal final term to enjoy come from behind and beat Collingullie-Glenfield Park on Saturday.
The Lions were 37 points down early in the final term but produced a barnstorming finish to ruin the Demons’ top three chances, 17.17 (119) to 17.9 (111) at Ganmain Sportsground.
James Lawton and Curtis Steele put on a show up forward in the final term as they stole the show and led GGGM to victory.
The performance could have been a little frustrating for GGGM supporters given their finals hopes are gone, but Lions coach Jayden Kotzur was happy to finish the year with a win.
“It’s a bit of both, but we wanted to finish the year on a high,” Kotzur said.
“It was a great team effort, he boys stuck at it, never gave in and it’s a great way to finish the year.”
Demons defender Geoff Spriggs suffered a bad finger injury, while GGGM’s Nathan McPherson did his hamstring.
